So the movers have come and taken just about all of our belongings away. Which has thrown the animals for a complete loop. There's no couch to lounge on. There's no bed to sleep on. Where did all their things go?
Fortunately, I have an awesome neighbor who's lent me a twin size mattress, table, chair, and a lamp. That's all you need right?
Apparently not in my dog's eyes.
Since the hubby is swinging by for a bit we did get a queen size air mattress, which is wonderful!
But now with all of our things gone, I hear the echoes. It's empty so everything is louder and does seem to echo. Something that frightens and seems to make my bird happy at the same time. I'll hear him sing out joyfully and know that he loves that he can hear himself. Then there are times when he'll screech and it's like he's freaked out that there's nothing to muffle the noise and he doesn't see the familiar.
The cats have mellowed about it. They're enjoying the fact that they can race around the house with no obstacles. Plus they love meowing for each other and the way it echoes. Me? Not so much.
Darby is not impressed. She wants her couches back. Although, it is more acceptable since we got the air mattress.
However, within the week their worlds will be rocked even more!
Soon everyone will be loaded up into one of two vehicles and we will drive cross country to California.
This should be interesting since only the bird has actually ever moved.

This makes me sad. I can't stand it. No goodbyes!
Nala used to stop eating when she realized we were getting ready to move. Before the stuff even got boxed up, for a good week, she'd eat once every three meals unless I had fed her the entire dish. I don't know if it was the canned food or fearing that Sasha would eat her food as well, but this last time Nala did much better. We get to start all over again at the end of spring. Have a good road trip!
